Bulls Host Central Michigan on Senior Day Sunday

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo women's soccer team (9-3-1, 5-2 MAC) returns home to host Central Michigan on Senior Day at UB Stadium on Sunday. There will be a postgame ceremony, presented by the UB Office of Alumni Engagement, to honor the seven-player senior class.
It is the 32nd meeting between Buffalo and Central Michigan with the Chippewas owning a 14-9-8 series edge. The teams played to a scoreless draw at the CMU Soccer Complex last season.
Buffalo saw its five-game win streak come to an end in a 2-0 loss to Massachusetts at Rudd Field on Thursday in the first meeting between the two programs. The teams were nearly even in shots and shots on goal while the Bulls maintained a 7-1 edge corner kick opportunities.
The Bulls are balanced offensively, with 24 goals scored off the feet of 10 different players, led by graduate student forward Jasmine Guerber and junior midfielder Laiken Kiser who have five goals each. Junior Lexie Thompson leads the Bulls between the pipes, compiling a 9-3-1 overall record. She leads the MAC and ranks in the top 25 nationally in shutouts (6) while ranking second in the league in goals against average (.63) and save percentage (.822) across 13 contests.
As a team, the Bulls lead the MAC and rank in the top 40 nationally in goals against average (.62), shutout percentage (.538) and goal differential (16). Offensively, the Bulls lead the league in shots per game (14.7), shots on goal (7.6) per game while ranking in the top three in points (69), goals (24), assists (21), scoring offense (1.85) and corner kicks per game (5.8).
Central Michigan is 0-11-2 overall and 0-5-2 in league play after falling at Akron 4-3 on Thursday. The Chippewas have had five different players record a goal this season. CMU has trio a trio of goalkeepers who have split time between the pipes, combining for a 1.92 goals against average, .691 save percentage and 56 saves across 13 contests this season.
Up next, Buffalo will head back on the road as they travel to Athens for a clash with the Ohio Bobcats on Thursday, October 16 at 4pm.
