Bulls Open Homestand Against Miami (OH) on Sunday

BUFFALO, NY - The University at Buffalo women's soccer team continues Mid-American Conference play on Sunday as they host Miami (OH) on Alzheimer's Awareness Day at UB Stadium at 1pm.
It is the 31st meeting between Buffalo and Miami (OH) with the RedHawks holding a 16-10-4 series advantage. The teams played to a scoreless draw in Oxford last season.
Buffalo fell to Eastern Michigan 1-0 to open league play on Thursday afternoon. Buffalo outshot Eastern Michigan 17-4 on the day, including an 8-3 advantage in shots on goal and a 6-3 edge in corner kick opportunities. Lexie Thompson made two saves on the day.
The Bulls are balanced offensively, with 12 goals scored off the feet of seven different players, led by junior midfielder Laiken Kiser who has three goals and graduate student forward Jasmine Guerber who has a pair of goals. Thomspon leads the Bulls between the pipes, compiling a 4-2-1 overall record. She leads the MAC with three shutouts while ranking second in goals against average (.73) across seven contests.
As a team, the Bulls are second in the MAC and rank in the top 50 nationally in goals against average (.71) and corner kicks per game (6.7). Offensively, the Bulls lead the league in shots per game (16.6) and shots on goal (8.3) per game while ranking second in points per game (4.9), third in assists (10) and scoring offense (1.71), and fourth in goals (12) and points (34).
Miami (OH) is 4-4 overall and 1-1 in league play after falling to Western Michigan 3-2 on Thursday. The RedHawks are balanced offensively with eight different players recording a goal this season, led by Millie Cook who has netted three goals while Katie O'Malley leads the team with seven points. Dominique Popa leads Miami between the pipes, as she owns a 1.25 goals against average and .615 save percentage with 16 saves in eight starts this season. As a team, the RedHawks rank in the top three in the MAC in scoring offense (1.57), points per game (4.75), shots per game (14.3) and corner kicks per game (6.0).
