Bulls Fall to RedHawks on Friday

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo volleyball team (3-8, 0-2 MAC) hosted the Miami RedHawks (8-6, 2-0 MAC) on Friday night at Alumni Arena. The Bulls fell the RedHawks, 3-0.
SET 1
The RedHawks jumped out to an early lead in the first set, starting the match with an 8-5 run. The Bulls battled back, but dropped the set to Miami, 25-18. Ashley Ballou had eight assists, setting up Emerson Matthews (3) Luli Arcucci (2), Emma Converse (2) and Manoela Forlin (2) for multiple kills.
SET 2
The RedHawks carried their momentum into the second set, starting the match with a 9-4 run. The Bulls rallied, but Miami ultimately took the second set, 25-22. Ballou added seven more assists, setting up Matthews for three more kills. Jordyn Romano also had three kills in the set. The Bulls had three blocks.
SET 3
The Bulls came out strong in the third set, jumping out to a 6-3 lead and forcing the RedHawks to call a timeout. Miami prevailed, taking the third set 25-23. Maddie Mitchell totaled eight assists in the Bulls' effort, with Matthews adding three more kills. Reese Collins had two kills of her own and a block in the set. Keira Kleidon ended the match with 12 digs.
The Bulls travel to Kent State next to battle the Golden Flashes on Friday, October 3rd at 6 p.m. The match will be streamed on ESPN+.
