2011-12: Battled through injuries to become a reliable option in his freshman season... earned the starting position for the team at the Wrestle for a Cure Duals, where he beat Lock Haven’s Aaron McKinney 6-1 before suffering a knee injury (11/12)... returned from his injury and finished fourth at the Storm Open (1/7)... placed second at the NYS Collegiate ‘B’ Tournament (1/21)... had three wins by fall en route to a third place finish at the Jamestown Open (1/28)... finished second at the prestigious Edinboro Open, beating opponents from Michigan State, West Virginia, Central Michigan and Penn State (2/11)... represented the team at the MAC Championships in the 184 bracket.
High School: Finished second at the CIF (California Interscholastic Federation) State Championship in the 171 pound division as a senior, improving from a fifth-place spot as a junior... at the NHSCA Junior Nationals, Lozano placed second, improving from a third-place finish at the Sophmore Nationals... in the prestigious Super 32 tournament, Lozano finished fourth in 2009... in Selma’s lone participation in the Reno Tournament of Champions, Lozano finished sixth as a freshman.... won the 5 Counties Tournament as a senior... finished in the top 12 at the Ironman Championships in his junior year... as a varsity wrestler, Justin finished with a 157-30 record.... a four time League and Divisional champion... also lettered twice in football, earning all conference honors
Personal: Born November 7, 1992... son of Greg and Sylvia... has two sisters, Alyssa and Ashley... favorite TV shows are Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm and also enjoys watching UFC... enjoys listening to hip hop, with Wiz Khalifa and Too Short being his favorite artists... chose Buffalo over Cal Poly and Arizona State because of the nightlife and great team... lists his greatest athletic accomplishment as taking down head coach Jim Beichner... his goal while at Buffalo is to be an All-American multiple times and become the program’s winningest wrestler.
