Bulls Open MAC Tournament Play Against Bowling Green on Saturday

BUFFALO, NY - After securing the three-seed in the 2025 Mid-American Conference Tournament, the University at Buffalo women's soccer team (12-3-2, 8-2-1 MAC) will take on No. 6 Bowling Green in the first quarterfinal match of the day on Saturday at 1pm at Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.
The game will be streamed on ESPN+ with Brandon Loe (play-by-play) and Dave Bacon (color) announcing.
It is the 34th meeting between Buffalo and Bowling Green with the Falcons owning an 18-10-5 advantage. The Bulls and Falcons have played to a draw in four straight contests, most recently a scoreless affair at UB Stadium on October 23.
The MAC announced its postseason soccer awards on Friday afternoon, with five Buffalo student-athletes earning postseason recognition, highlighted by junior Lexie Thompson who was named Goalkeeper of the Year for the second straight season. Thompson also earned a spot on the All-MAC First Team. Joining her on the first team is graduate student defender Frederique St.-Jean and graduate student forward Jasmine Guerber, while senior midfielder Sarah Woods received All-MAC Second Team honors. Additionally, Adriana Victoriano earned a spot on the All-Freshman Team.
The Bulls are balanced offensively, with 30 goals scored off the feet of 12 different players, led by Guerber who leads the team in goals (7) and points (19) and junior midfielder Laiken Kiser who has notched five goals. Thompson leads the Bulls between the pipes, compiling an 12-4-2 overall record. She ranks in the top three in the MAC and in the top 30 nationally in goals against average (.68) and shutouts (8) while ranking fourth in the league in save percentage (.813) across 18 contests.
As a team, the Bulls rank second in the MAC and 19th in the nation in goals against average (.67) while also ranking in the top 35 nationally in shutout percentage (.500). Offensively, the Bulls lead the league in shots per game (13.5) and shots on goal (7.1) per game while ranking second in the MAC in points (86), goals (30) and scoring offense (1.67) and rank third in assists (26) and corner kicks per game (5.0).
Bowling Green finished the regular season with a 9-2-8 overall record and 4-1-7 league mark defeating UMass 3-1 on Wednesday. The Falcons are led offensively by Emma Stransky who has scored eight goals. Additionally, six other players have recorded 2+ goals on the year. Peyton O'Malley leads Bowling Green between the pipes, as she ranks second in the MAC in goals against average (.64) and save percentage (.840) and ranks fifth in shutouts (6) while making 63 saves in 19 starts this season.
With a win on Saturday, the Bulls will advance to face No. 2 Miami (OH) in the semifinals on Tuesday, November 4 at 1pm.
