
Bulls have Success at Youngstown State Invite

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The University at Buffalo track and field team competed in the Youngstown State Invite on Friday afternoon in the Watson and Tressel Training Site (WATTS). The team gained experience while also breaking records and setting person-bests.
Senior Sam Wray broke his season-record in weight throw with a distance of 19.20m/63-00.00. Wray's previous season-best was 19.04m/62-05.75. This distance is now fourth in UB's all-time results. In the triple jump, Shevaughn Allen leaped his way to a new school record with a distance of 15.96m/52-04.25. He broke Kaishaun Cathey's, his events coach, record set in 2017 with a distance of 15.81m/51-10.50. This distance also set a new WATTS record that has been held for six years. Gyasi Morris ran a personal-best mark of 48.89 to place third in the 400 meter run. His mark ranks fourth in the MAC.
Travasia Singletary started the day with a third place finish in the 60 meter dash with a season-best time of 8.09. Meghan LaTuso finished the mile run with a personal-best time of 5:09.01, the time would also be the Bulls' season-best. Her time was good for seventh overall out of 90 runners. The dynamic duo of Selina Von Jackowski and Christina Wende finished first and fourth in the 60 meter hurdles. Von Jackowski finished in a time of 8.56, which is now fifth in UB's all-time list. Wende finished in 9.10, her season-best. Nisa Raqib won the women's triple jump with a MAC automatic qualifying mark of 12.50m/41'0.25". Her jump was over eight feet better than second place. Raqib's season-best of 12.77m ranks second in the MAC and 14th in the NCAA.

- Jeremy Lissade completed the 60 meter dash in 6.92 for a third place finish.
- In the pole vault, Jason Farrell finished eighth with a new season-best height of 4.57m/15-00.00.
- Devon Koepp finished the shot put with a distance of 15.41m/50-06.75, a new season-high. His distance was good for a 12th place finish out of over 70 participants.
Other Notable Women's Performances
- Kelsey Shapiro claimed a personal-best in the long jump as she leaped to a whopping distance of 5.36m/17-07.00.
- Priscilla Faa captured a personal-best in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.78.
- Rachel Barich ran a season-best in the 5000 meter run with a time of 19:10.17. Her time was good enough for a seventh place finish out of 23 runners.
- Samantha Shea and Emma Seiders finished ninth and 10th in the 400 meter dash. Shea finished in 58.89, a new season-best, as Seiders finished in 58.92.
